Russia 2011

We have lots to update you on from July (both families visited, an anniversary, and a birthday), but in the meantime, we spent this past weekend with this great group of people. These ten came to town for a long weekend of planning and enjoyment.

We have spent time over the past four years with most of the people in this picture, as we have been learning about leadership and ministry together through yearly conferences, women's retreats, and site visits. These people have made up our small group and come from MN, MI, CO, TX, and the Bahamas (not pictured as they were unable to attend). The other two are currently missionaries in Russia, and we met them for the first time last weekend as they were on home leave for a few months and able to join us as a result. We are also involved with them as we plan a mission trip to Russia next year.

It was great fun to have everyone join us where we live, and also a great time of learning, both about Russia and the Christian history there, as well as how we are able to work with brothers and sisters in Jesus who live half a world away. We both are highly inspired in the ministries we are currently involved in, as well as for the opportunity to travel (woohoo!) and work with others who share our faith. The plan is to visit Moscow, St. Petersburg, and then hold a week-long training session in Siberia. We're looking forward to the experience of serving with these great people.
