We're still alive...just been extremely busy lately. I have so many pictures I want to post, I just haven't taken the time to post any. Sigh. Maybe after Thanksgiving. We've already had our 1st Thanksgiving feast of the season. On Sunday, Scott cooked a 20 pound turkey for the college student dinner at church that we help out with. Yum...a Thanksgiving feast with all the fixings. He used an oven bag and it only took 3 1/2 hours!
We're currently cleaning and preparing for another Thanksgiving meal on Thursday. You see, since our families never come visit for Thanksgiving, and since Scott can't get away from his job, we're always left deciding what to do...do we just have a small meal for the 2 of us, do we try to mooch our way into someone else's holiday feast, do we just go out to eat, or do we host others at our house?
Since we've been married, we've always invited my classes of international students to our home for a traditional Thanksgiving feast. We hemmed and hawed this year over whether we should or shouldn't (it's a lot of work), and finally last week, (yes, just one week before the big day) we decided to go for it. We have 14 students, representing 5 countries, coming over for their first ever American Thanksgiving! It should be a great time to share some American traditions with them. We'll post more after the event, but in the meantime, we have more cleaning to do...
