I'm back! The fog is finally beginning to clear in my head. If you hadn't noticed, I've been severely absent from blogging the past few weeks. Thanks to my husband for keeping you updated. I knew summer classes would be hectic, and I was somewhat prepared for the insanity of squeezing 15 weeks of material into a mere 5 weeks. Then multiply that by 2 since I was teaching 2 classes. Thankfully my classes were extremely small, and while I was tired from all of the work each day, I didn't become too stressed and irritable as I have in past summers.
I finished my classes last week, and then it was a wedding rehearsal and wedding with Scott, voter's meeting, VBS, and more. Finally, I feel like I am able to work on getting caught up on sleep, cleaning, and organizing. What's on schedule for the rest of the summer? I have a few trips planned, lots of cleaning and organizing around the house, my volunteer work at church, and more projects on the to-do list.
While the fog in my head has been clearing, the fog in our weather certainly has not been. We've had so much rain this month, it's been unreal. It feels more like springtime than summer. We are well over our June average for rainfall, and we still have 11 days left this month! We've had 3+ inches of rain, and more is on the way this weekend. Remember- we do live in the high desert.
One day last week I came home to this...white all along our garage door, fence, and sides of the house.

It was bizarre. For an instant when I came home I thought- oh no- snow! I quickly realized it was leftover hail from a storm that had passed through. Scott was home at the time and said the yard was completely white from the hail. I only saw the remnants.

We've had so much rain there are mushrooms growing all over our yard. I'm not talking about the occasional one or two, I'm talking about troops of mushrooms (is that the right word for a group of mushrooms?) everywhere! I wonder if they are edible...
Finally, here's a colorful bird we saw the other day. Is it a yellow-headed blackbird? Any birding experts out there?

I do believe it is a yellow-headed blackbird. As for the shrooms, there's only one way to find out if they're edible!
