Do you know....Chow Chow?

If not, now you do. In the Big City, they have this interesting restaurant on wheels, called the Chow Truck. It can be found in a new location each day of the week. Recently, we were down in the city, and Carrie had looked up where the Chow Truck would be for lunch that day. After a very brief search (thanks to my excellent driving and navigational skills), we found...THE CHOW TRUCK!!!!

Yes, Meals on Wheels, move over. You've been pushed aside, at least in our book.

The Chow Truck features food an Asian flair. So we stepped up to the truck, looked over the menu, and put in our order. Just a few minutes later, this is what appeared in our hands (and pretty soon, our tummies).

Looks yummy, doesn't it? Here's a brief explanation of what you see. At the bottom is flash fried calamari dusted with Asian spice, to the left are Asian spiced root chips, and then we have four tacos: coconut lemongrass chicken, pineapple ginger pork, spicy beef with cilantro chile pesto, and one that was the special of the day. All of the tacos come on a corn tortilla and are topped with Asian slaw and wonton crunchies.

We thought the Chow Truck was so good that we decided to stop by it the next time we were in the Big City. It just happened to be at the same location, which is next to one of the local TV affiliates. We were there at the noon hour, so we got to see some of the "outdoor" news that they do just outside the studio. This day, we got to see two brief little promos. Here is the weather lady as she gets people ready to hear the weather.

In addition to the weather, the station was also doing a giveaway for some students. They were doing this right outside the studio, next to the Chow Truck, so we stuck around for the quick promo. Here they are, getting ready for their 2 minutes of fame!

So you see, it's always an adventure when you go looking for the Chow Truck. Who's hungry for Chow now?
