After The Storm Comes A Rainbow

While the title could very well be a metaphor for the storms of life we encounter, the phrase was a literal sight for us Thursday evening. A small thunder boomer (more thunder than rain) rolled through, and we went crazy with excitement. It's been weeks since we've heard thunder or seen lightning, and even longer than that since we've seen rain (we do live in the high desert).

But after all the noise, and an actual downfall (albeit a short one), we were treated to this beautiful sight- not one, but two rainbows! I've never seen a double rainbow before, and it was spectacular. It lasted several minutes and the picture doesn't do justice to the colors of the rainbow on the right. I actually saw six distinct colors- red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. I don't remember being able to see purple before in a rainbow either.

Next time life brings you a storm (literal or figurative), remember the rainbow that comes after the storm.
